Cuban Redneck

About the Cuban Redneck DIY Channel

Welcome to my blog. This is an extension of my newest YouTube channel (The Cuban Redneck DIY Channel). As previously mentioned, my name is JC, and many of my hunting and fishing friends call me the Cuban Redneck. In Spanish, or should I say in “Cuban.”  That roughly translates to “Cuban Guajiro,” a common nickname for people from the countryside!

I have also mentioned before that my wife and I have recently moved to Southwest Florida, where we plan to retire. Shortly after this move, and after my fishing channel plans got put on hold, the idea for this channel came to be.

As soon as we moved, the first project I did, even before setting up my garage workspace, was a wall-to-wall desk for the office. Although we are not as busy as we once were regarding marketing, SEO, and web design for others, there are still some things to do almost daily, and a desk was a must! I shared a few picks and a short clip of only about 30-40 sec with a couple of friends and was surprised about the response. Several people asked if there were any more pics, how you do it, the cost, etc. With time on my hands and many things to do around the house, I decided to get a large SD card for the camera and let it run while I do stuff! That is how this channel came to be!

Although I have several projects already scheduled. I would love for this channel to be interactive and driven by member ideas and requests. As I finish setting up my woodworking workspace, I look forward to making lures and functional woodworking projects and sharing many of the tricks and hacks I have learned over the last four decades with you.

I started to work very early in life and have had the privilege of working in many different jobs. From having car audio and alarm business to cars, motorcycles, and off-shore powerboat racing and even boat building. During that time, I have been able to work side by side with some top engineers and coworkers with a tremendous amount of knowledge and experience from whom I learned a lot.

I look forward to sharing these life experiences with you via this blog and my newest YouTube channel.
